Q: How do I get started?
Complete the short sign-up form at www.lernin.co.uk/signup. Once received, you’ll be added to the waiting list and contacted when a space opens.
Q: How long is the current waiting list?
Lessons are currently booking from late December / January 2026 onwards. This is for both Manual and Automatic lessons
Q: Do you offer automatic or manual lessons?
Yes — both. Make sure you select your preferred transmission when signing up.
Q: Where do you cover?
Chingford, Loughton, Woodford, Buckhurst Hill, Wanstead and surrounding areas. Outside these, meeting points are available — details on the website.
Q: What’s your pass rate?
Lernin has an excellent record — including a current 100% first-time pass rate for learners trained from scratch to test-ready. Our overall pass rate sits at 71% (Nov 2025)
💰 Pricing & Payments
Q: How much are lessons?
Manual: £37/hour (2-hour minimum = £74 per lesson).
Automatic: £40/hour (2-hour minimum = £80 per lesson).
Q: Do you offer discounts or packages?
No upfront discounts. A loyalty reward applies after 10 lessons (20 hours) — £2/hour off any further lessons. We do not offer specific packages.
Q: How do I pay?
Pay-as-you-go, via the TotalDrive app or by bank transfer 36 hours before each lesson. Cash is not accepted for payment.
Q: Can I pay for a block of lessons?
You can, but the price per hour is the same until you reach the loyalty stage.
⏰ Lesson Info
Q: How long are lessons?
All lessons are 2 hours.
Q: How often should I take lessons?
Ideally once or twice per week. Consistency is key — big gaps slow progress.
Q: Can I choose my pickup location?
Yes — if it’s within the coverage area. Otherwise, you can meet at one of our fixed meeting points (stations listed on the website).
Q: What car will I learn in?
The Audi A3 S-Line Sportback is used for Automatic lessons and The Vauxhall Corsa E Sport for Manual. Both are dual control and fitted with instantly reviewable dashcam
🧾 Tests & Bookings
Q: Can you book my driving test?
Yes — or you can book your own. Current DVSA test dates are 24 weeks ahead. New tests are released at 6am each Monday.
Q: Can you find me an earlier test?
No instructor can guarantee earlier dates. If you find a cancellation yourself, I’ll support you with lessons towards it subject to availability.
Q: Do you charge for booking tests?
If I book it for you, an admin fee of £20 applies. Full details are in the Terms & Conditions. Test costs are £62 for weekdays and £75 for weekends
📱 Apps & Tech
Q: What’s the TotalDrive app for?
It’s a fully integrated app where you book lessons, view your progress, track payments, and see feedback.
Q: When do I get access to the app?
Once you’ve completed the sign-up form and been added to the waiting list.
Q: How will I know when my lessons start?
YYou will be contacted in advance of a start date offering you access to the online booking section of the app.
📅 Cancellations & Refunds
Q: What’s your cancellation policy?
At least 24 hours’ notice is required. Any cancellation with less than 24 hours is fully chargeable.
Q: What if the DVSA cancels my test?
The DVSA will reschedule your test in most circumstances
Q: Do you offer refunds for lessons?
Refunds only apply in line with the Terms & Conditions.
🧑🏫 Learning & Progress
Q: How many lessons will I need?
It varies — the DVSA average is around 45 hours with an instructor plus private practice. My focus is on quality, not dragging it out. Most students reach test readiness at 20 hours but this is down to you as the driver.
Q: Can I practice between lessons?
Absolutely — it helps massively. Just make sure you’re supervised and insured correctly.
Q: Do you offer refresher or motorway lessons?
Yes, available for full licence holders. Contact me directly for pricing and availability.

You will receive a reply at our earliest convenience. We want you to take your training with us so you get great value and a successful result at great overall value
