Welcome aboard! Thank you for choosing Lernin Driving School. We are looking forward to helping you become a confident, capable, and safe driver.
Please take a few minutes to read this guide carefully — it explains how lesson bookings and payments work, how our booking app functions, and what we expect to keep things running smoothly.
Step 1: Licence Check
Before you can book any lessons, you must provide a driving licence check code, which you can get here:

We also require the last 8 characters from your driving licence if you have not already provided the full licence number ie JONES711296WA99SG
Please send both the check code and driver number by whatsapp to 07356088972
This is a requirement to ensure that your driving licence is valid and that you are not disqualified from driving in the UK
Do not send screenshots or printouts of your licence details, just the CHECK CODE and driver number — we check your licence directly using the code you provide. Your photocard licence must also be valid and be a true likeness of you.
After we have received and validated your driving licence information, please complete the signup form below . You will then be sent details of how to log in to the TotalDrive app.

🗓 Booking & Paying for Lessons – Step by Step
💳 First Lesson Deposit – Read Carefully
To secure your very first lesson, full payment for that lesson is required at the time of booking. This payment is non-refundable and will be used to pay for the first lesson.
This upfront payment:
- Confirms your commitment
- Secures your lesson slot
- Is non-refundable, except where a reschedule request is made with at least 5 days’ notice
This policy exists to prevent last-minute cancellations and non-payment, which waste valuable time and prevent other learners from booking.
Step 2: Booking via TotalDrive
Once your licence is checked you’ll be given access to the online booking section
You can first check in the ONLINE BOOKING section to see if there is a lesson date and time within the availability that you require.
Then :-
On the app, select PAY FOR LESSON. Under MY RATES -select the 2 hours and then BUY NOW Enter your card details, make the payment and then go back to the homepage and select ONLINE BOOKING. Your account will be credited with 2 hours to use for your first lesson. There is an imposed service charge that we have no control over, but your first lesson will be 2 hours 10 minutes to allow for the extra charge.
- Select XX99 if not already selected, tick the I agree to the TotalDrive & Lernin Driving School terms and conditions after you have read them and continue
- The diary will then show with all availability for the next 4 weeks. If a date is not in a green circle, it means there is no availability on that day – all lessons are booked.
- Select a date and time for your first lesson and proceed to the checkout
- Now select .
- CHECKOUT Scroll down if necessary to BOOK USING EXISTING BALANCE
- DO NOT RE-ENTER YOUR CARD DETAILS
- The 2 hours you paid for will be used to book and confirm the lesson you have selected.
- You will be provided with credit for your second and subsequent lessons after your first lesson is completed. Use the BOOK USING EXISTING CREDIT option if you wish to avoid the service charges.
- All future lessons must be paid no later than 36 hours before your lesson time.
- The app will send automated reminders if payment is still outstanding.
Step 3: Payment Options
You can pay via:

- In-app payment (fees apply – these are controlled by the app, not by us)
Cash is not accepted as a payment method.
Payment for lessons other than the first lesson must be made at least 36 hours in advance, or the slot will be automatically cancelled. In the event of a non payment within the required timeframe, Prepayment for all future lessons will be required at the time of booking and no credit facilities will be provided. Payments must then be made through the app including the service charge to secure lessons.
❌ Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full
- The first lesson payment is non-refundable. The lesson can be rescheduled with 5+ days’ notice

🔔 Notifications – Must Be Enabled
The TotalDrive app is our primary method of communication.
- App notifications must be enabled so you don’t miss important updates or reminders.
- WhatsApp may be used for backup messages, but it’s not guaranteed — the app always comes first.
- If you miss a message because notifications are off, standard cancellation/payment terms still apply.
🚗 Lesson Gaps – Extra Availability
Occasionally, short-notice lesson slots become available due to cancellations or diary rescheduling. These are announced via the app and can be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
- These slots apply to both manual and automatic lessons, regardless of what the message may say.
- If you’d like to book a gap but need the time slightly adjusted, message us on WhatsApp and we’ll try to accommodate where possible.
