With over 30 years of service as a police officer specialising in road traffic and post-incident management, I bring a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to my role as a driving instructor. I was a police driver for 29 years and an advanced police driver for over 20 of those years, a qualification that provides me with an in-depth understanding of road safety, defensive driving, and effective hazard perception. Whilst no longer driving or riding police vehicles, the training and practical skills over 20+ years still hold true today.
As a former qualified driving test examiner, I have a unique perspective on the test process and what it takes to pass it. This experience has deepened my ability to assess and build driving skills that ensure learners are well-prepared and confident when they take their test. I have previously held a CBT & Direct Access Instructors certificate and trained hundreds of new motorcyclists. Unfortunately, I no longer ride motorcycles.
I hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), which has equipped me with the teaching expertise to create structured, effective lessons that cater to different learning styles. My teaching approach is rooted in empathy, patience, and reassurance, especially when it comes to preparing for the practical test. I have a calming disposition and a tenacious commitment to each learner’s success, ensuring they feel supported and confident. I understand that the test can be stressful and have seen the varying levels of nerves and anxiety, so I focus on fostering a supportive environment that encourages confidence and reduces anxiety. I have developed strategies to help drivers relax and feel confident.
My philosophy is thus: each learner deserves personalised instruction that meets their unique needs. I combine my comprehensive background in policing and advanced driving with a customer-centric approach. This ensures that my lessons are more than just about passing the test—they are about becoming a confident, responsible, and safe driver.

As a former DVSA Examiner, like Sean, I know what it takes to prepare you for a practical driving test. After eleven years with the DVSA, I decided that instructing was a new direction that I wanted to take. I am committed to road safety and have undergone Advanced training in driving. I am a fluent Romanian speaker. I am currently working towards obtaining my ADI qualification and will be joining the team soon. I will be teaching automatic in a Toyota CHR.

I am a retired Police Officer having spent over 20 years of my 30 year career specialising in Roads Policing. An Advanced driver, motorcyclist, HGV driver and former specialist investigator, I am dedicated to road safety and as a manager previously, I am passionate about getting the best from people. Driving is not just a rite of passage, a licence to drive needs to be earned. I don’t believe in trying to shortcut the process. I will teach you in a calm and professional manner to get the very best from you. I too am working towards my ADI qualification and will be joining the team soon. I will be teaching manual gearbox in a lovely little Mini Cooper.
